Pre-sale questions

Can I keep using the extension after a year?

YES
If you have purchased a one year PRO subscription, you have a year access to PRO downloads, updates and support.
After that year, you can keep using the version you have installed. However, you will no longer be able to update to newer versions or receive support.
You can choose to renew your subscription to gain access again.
Or you can choose to downgrade to the FREE version.

Can I install the extension on multiple domains?

YES
You can install the extension on as many domains as you want. There is no domain check or restriction.

Can I alter the code?

YES
The extensions are fully open source and the code is NOT encrypted in any way. No use of Zend Optimizer or ionCube.

You are free to change the code to your likings.

However: If you alter the extensions files, I can no longer provide support on any problems you encounter.
Also if you update or reinstall the extension, all changes you made will be lost.

So it is better to overrule functionality via template overrides or custom plugins.
For changes in styling it is best to overrule style classes through the css stylesheet of your template or add a custom stylesheet.

For how long is a subscription valid?

All subscriptions are valid for a whole year from the date of purchase. Except the Lifetime Bundle, which does not expire.

Renewals will extend your subscription with a year. So the renewal will become active on the day your current subscription expires.

As long as your subscription is valid, you have access to the Pro versions of the extensions and the support forum. You can renew with a 25% discount.

If you upgrade to a Bundle or Lifetime Bundle subscription, you receive the full purchase value of your active subscriptions as a discount (if it is higher than the 25% discount).

What does Lifetime mean?

You can buy a Lifetime Bundle. This means you get lifetime access to the latest PRO downloads and updates. And Lifetime access to the support forum.

Lifetime means till the end of life of any of the following:

  • Me (Peter van Westen)
  • My company (Regular Labs)
  • The Regular Labs extensions
  • The Internet
  • Joomla
  • The world

... which ever comes first.

I have no Paypal, how can I pay?

If you have a credit card you can still pay via the Paypal connection without needing a Paypal account.
Just click on the 'Check out as guest', 'Don't have a PayPal account?' or 'Create an account' link when you are on the Paypal checkout page.
You can fill your credit card details in the form that appears. You don't need to create a Paypal account there.

Unfortunately, in some cases PayPal does not allow direct credit card payments or does not give you the option to not create a PayPal account.
Sometimes it is because of your location, or sometimes PayPal might believe by checking your browser's cookies that you actually own a PayPal account. You might try deleting your brower cookies to get around this.

Otherwise you can pay via a direct transfer to my bank account.
You can find the details of my bank account on the contact page.
Just transfer the money and give me a shout when the transfer has been made. Let me know what subscription(s) you paid for. I can then activate the subscription(s) manually.

Can I get a refund?

YES
There is a 30 day money back guarantee. If for some reason you are not happy with the purchase of the PRO version, you can contact me within 30 days after the purchase to receive a refund.

Where can I get translations?

The available languages are packed with the extensions. The appropriate languages will automatically be installed on your setup when installing/updating the extension.

You can see what languages are available on the individual extension pages on this website.

Can I help with the translations?

YES... please!
All translations are done by and offered by a team of volunteers.
If a translation for your language is not available or complete, I welcome you to the translation team.

Please read here for more information.

How can I uninstall Regular Labs extensions?

You can either uninstall Regular Labs extensions by using the core extension manager available in the Joomla! Administrator Control Panel, or by using the powerful Regular Labs Extension Manager.

If you no longer use any Regular Labs extensions, you can also uninstall the Regular Labs Library plugin by using the Joomla! core extension manager.

What are the minimum requirements?

Regular Labs extensions will only work correctly if your setup meets these requirements:

  • Up-to-date version of Joomla:
    • Joomla 3.6.0 or higher
  • PHP 5.4 or higher
  • MySQL 5 or higher

Important: I can only provide support for setups that:

  • meet the above requirements;
  • do not have extension files or Joomla! core files which have been altered in any way.

Where can I download earlier versions?

You have access to all previous free versions of all extensions on this website.

If you have a subscription to an extension, you can also download any previous pro version of that extension.

If you do not have a valid subscription, you can download any pro version that is older than 1 year.

You can find the links to older versions under the "Changelog" tab on the extension pages.

Note: Please note that I am unable to provide support on old versions! (whether you have a subscription or not).

How can I downgrade to an earlier version of Regular Labs extensions?

If for some reason you need to install an older version, it is best to uninstall the extension first.

You will also have to uninstall the Regular Labs Library system plugin.

After that you can simply install the older version zip file using the Joomla! installer.

Note: Please note that I am unable to provide support on old versions!

How can I upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3?

The upgrade of Joomla itself is a one-click process. But that just takes care of Joomla.

Many templates and extensions will not work the same or at all after upgrading to Joomla 3.

I personally advise against using the built-in upgrade process, and advise starting from scratch by installing a fresh copy of Joomla 3.

If you do want to upgrade Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3, you will need to do this with regards to the Regular Labs extensions you have installed:

  1. Disable or uninstall all Regular Labs extensions.
(Uninstalling Regular Labs extensions will make you lose any global configuration settings for that extension. You will not lose any saved items)
  2. Upgrade Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.
  3. Re-install all Regular Labs extensions you want installed.

For a detailed step-by-step migration process, see: https://docs.joomla.org/Joomla_2.5_to_3.x_Step_by_Step_Migration

Licensing

Under what license are Regular Labs extensions released?

All free and paid Regular Labs extensions are released under the Open Source GNU GPL v2.0 license.

See the Terms & Conditions for additional terms.

Regular Labs Library

What is the Regular Labs Library?

The Regular Labs Library is a Joomla! library and system plugin that is installed along with every Regular Labs extension.

This plugin contains all the common functions and language strings that the Regular Labs extensions use.

If you use any Regular Labs extensions, this plugin must be installed and published. They will not function correctly or they will not function at all without it.

Do I still need the NoNumber Framework plugin?

The NoNumber Framework has been replaced with the Regular Labs Library.

It is however not possible for my installer to check if a user has any custom code (in custom extensions, overrides or templates) that is using and relying on functionality from the NoNumber Framework.
This is the reason the NoNumber Framework does not get uninstalled automatically.

The NoNumber Framework can safely be uninstalled if your do not have any custom code using it.
